Louis Dalessandro Retires

On August 16, 1976, Louis Dalessandro reported to the Wayne Junction Line maintenance building when he started on the Reading side of the Conrail Railroad. On January 1, 1983, SEPTA took over operation of the railroad and Louis maintained his same position in the Signal Gang. Over the years he has pulled a fellow employee to safety from a fire, rescued an employee caught in electrified power lines, and even stopped a runaway horse on Rte. 1. On August 1, 2023, Louis will retire with a total of 40 years and 7 months of service as a SEPTA employee. We thank and celebrate Louis as he embarks on the next journey of his life.
